Sports – R J Tibrewal Commerce College

The college sports activities are held all year long and have been the breeding ground for National and International talent.

A Table-Tennis room is available for students on campus. Volleyball, Football, Softball and handball teams are facilitated to use Gujarat Vidyapith courts and grounds for practice. All athletes use Gujarat University Cinder Track for practice and competition.

Badminton selections are done at the Gujarat University, Indoor Halls.

Mr. Meet Vora helps with athletics. Mr. Salil Yadav and Jay Patel coach the Cricket team. Mr Ramjung Yadav( Jaggi) coaches Football Teams. Swami Sir, Laxmanbhai and Rameshbhai Patel are mentors for Volleyball teams .The college is thus able to counter and overcome infrastructural constraints. Shri D B Rana is the Physical Education Director.

Sports Achievements 2026-2027

♦An Interclass Badminton Tournament was held on the 19th July 2026 as part of selections for representation at the Gujarat University Inter College tournament. A keenly contested set of games between 24 girls and 28 boys resulted with 3 students from Boys and Girls categories being selected to represent the college at the University team. Congratulations to the winners Devam, Rajveer, Pratham AND Mahi, Heer, Kriyanshi!!!

♦ R. J. Tibrewal Commerce College Secures Victory in Inter-College Cricket Match

R. J. Tibrewal Commerce College registered a 15-run victory over St. Xavier’s College in an exciting Inter-College cricket match held on 7 September 2026.

Batting first, R. J. Tibrewal Commerce College posted a competitive total of 253 runs in 50 overs. Panth Karamchandani was the top scorer, contributing an impressive 73 runs off 82 balls, while Sanket Mevada added a valuable 50 runs off 43 balls.

With the ball, Vansh Agrawal delivered an outstanding performance, claiming 5 wickets, while Zaver Desai supported the bowling attack with 3 wickets. Their combined efforts helped the team secure a well-deserved 15-run victory.

For his exceptional all-round contribution, Vansh Agrawal was awarded the Man of the Match.

The college congratulates the entire team and wishes them continued success in their upcoming matches.

♦ CBCA UNDER-23 INTER-COLLEGE SEMI-FINAL MATCH

R J TIBREWAL COMMERCE COLLEGE secured a convincing 4-wicket victory over L J Institute of Sports Management in the CBCA Under-23 Inter-College Semi-Final held on 11th September 2026 at Pioneer Cricket Ground.

Batting first, L J Institute of Sports Management were bowled out for 143 runs. For RJTCC, Zaver Desai was the leading wicket-taker with 3 wickets, while Sanket Mecada and Vansh Agarwal claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing 144, Dheer Trivedi and Vedant Ravel played crucial innings, scoring 37 runs each, guiding RJTCC to victory by 4 wickets.

Dheer Trivedi was declared Man of the Match.

♦ Aman Patel Honoured as “Batting Boss”

M.Com. Semester 3 student Aman Patel was selected among 60 student cricketers to train and play alongside international players, opening with Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan. In a pan-India competition, he was voted “Batting Boss”. He represented Gujarat University at the 2023 and 2025 West Zone Inter-University tournaments and has played Under 23 to district level.

♦ RJTCC Girls’ Volleyball Team Secures Runner-Up Position

The Girls’ Volleyball Team of R.J. Tibrewal Commerce College secured the Runner-Up position at the Ward Level Volleyball Tournament and qualified for the Zonal Level, where they will represent the college against teams from across the zone. Heartiest congratulations to all players for their dedication, teamwork, discipline, and sporting spirit.

Sports Achievements 2025-2026

Our Girls Cricket Team: Indus Cup 2k26 is a national level event. The RJTCC girls cricket team played against Sparkle Strikers and won by 6 wickets chasing a target of 20 runs.

RJ Tibrewal Commerce College win at the INDUS CUP: Our team played against GUJARAT COLLEGE and WON the match by 34 RUNS.
